The United Nations has launched a new global road safety campaign, #MakeASafetyStatement, to improve traffic safety and reduce the number of road-related victims by 2030. The campaign, which will run through 2025, has the support of 14 celebrities, including Novak Djokovic, Michelle Yeoh, and Naomi Campbell, who have pledged their own statements to promote safe driving. Road accidents are the number one killer for individuals aged 5 to 29, with the majority occurring in low- and middle-income countries. The campaign aims to raise awareness and mobilize political will to address this “silent pandemic.”
