Bret Easton Ellis’ 1991 novel American Psycho, which was adapted into a film starring Christian Bale, features a cameo from Tom Cruise and was partially inspired by the actor’s mannerisms. The film had to leave out several moments from the book due to its graphic and lengthy nature.
