Central City’s annual celebration of its most famous Gold Rush era madam takes a turn when 40 people pay to throw cream pies at the mayor. The event raises $400 for charity, but may also reflect animus towards the mayor’s efforts to bring strippers to town. The mayor, son of legendary concert promoter Barry Fey, is standing behind his commitment to revitalize the town through commercial activity, including a steakhouse with strippers owned by RCI Hospitality Holdings, Inc. RCI has also invested millions in other properties in Central City, and the mayor hopes to bring new money into the town.
