Ronnie Blades grew up in Pasadena surrounded by two fashionable women whose wardrobes spanned generations. He founded RetroBlades, a vintage clothing brand harkening back to his grandmother’s styles during the 1930s and 1940s, with his mother’s love of 1970s and 1980s pieces. Blades sells pieces from both eras and between in his antique shop Archive Atelier in Playa Vistas Free Market. BIPOC retailers play a critical role in preserving and elevating their history of fashion and culture.
